Supplies needed for one fabric strip wreath:

  • Wire wreath frame (I used 8″)
  • Fabric strips (about 8 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ long) I used a fat quarter bundle from Hobby Lobby.
  • Pinking shears or fabric scissors

step-by-step instructions to make your own Christmas wreath:

  1. Cut your fabric strips to 8 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ using your pinking shears. You can prepare a bunch of strips now.

2. Starting on one of the sections of the wreath, follow each wire piece and tie on the fabric strips, I like to do one wire section at a time. Tie all of the strips on making sure the ends are even and they are all facing the same direction.

3. Continue tying until you have filled the entire wire frame.

4. You can trim your fabric strips if you want at this stage or add any embellishments like a bow, tiny ornaments, etc.

This fabric strip wreath would be great for any other holiday or special occasion, just change your fabric colors to match your holiday, and add embellishments to fit! I think a spring fabric wreath would be cute with spring colors and mini bunnies, carrots, and easter eggs to add to the wreath would be so fun!
